What to know about THIS setup

  • Check whether the monitor has a USB-C input. If it does, ONE SINGLE cable from the laptop to the monitor does three things at once: you see the screen, the laptop charges — you do not need its charger — and the monitor's ports act as if they were the laptop's, so that is where you plug the keyboard and mouse. If the monitor does NOT have USB-C, then yes, you need the dock, which is a separate box that does that same job. On the monitor's listing, look for these words: USB-C with 65 W or more. The 65 W is the power it sends to the laptop; with less, the screen works but the battery still drains.
  • These machines charge at 65 W. Any of the docks here powers them with room to spare.
