It is the cheap desktop counterpart the category was missing: a work tower with 32 GB already fitted for less than a new office laptop costs. If the machine does not leave your desk, this performs better than any portable at this price.

How far it grows
In a tower there is no ceiling that depends on the manufacturer: graphics, power supply, drives and memory all change. The only thing tying you down is the motherboard, and that is the last thing to run short.
What changes on a desktop
This is where it shows most. The workstation laptop tops out at 64 or 192 GB and has the graphics soldered; the tower tops out at nothing and the card changes with two screws.
